Topic - Clothes
We have had a few visitors into our class to talk about their Special Clothes.
Mr Gregory (Luke's Daddy) came in to talk about his job as a Fireman and to show the children the special clothes he has to wear for different jobs. He even let the children try them on.
The children all loved hearing more about a Firemans job, and enjoyed listening to the answers of the questions they all had.
Thank you very much Mr Gregory!
Father Phillip also came in to show us all his Special clothes and to tell us a little bit about when he wears different items of clothing - some we recognised but some we didn't!

This is the special outfit that Father Phillip wears for Weddings - don't tell Miss Wills, it'll spoil the surprise!

He let the children try on his special 'stoles'. Each colour stole is for a different time in the Chuches year. He didn't have his purple one for Christmas with him though.
When the bag was full it was MUCH heavier than we thought!
We have looked at lots of different clothes this half term ...
... Sari's
... African clothes
... Jewish skull caps - Kippah
... Jewish Prayer shawl - Tallit, with tassels on each of the four corners - Tzitzit
We have also taken part in lots of activities to do with clothing including designing and then decorating our own socks...

and we have now designed our own t-shirt (to be decorated in the second week after half term).

We have also been learning about where our clothes come from and the importance of Fairtrade clothing.
