BIG WRITE: 12.10.12
The children in year one will be writing an acrostic poem this week during their BIG WRITE session. They will be writing about nocturnal animals but thinking about ways to start each line of the poem. Each line will begin with a letter in the word NOCTURNAL, i.e
N -Night time animals scurry in the darkness.
O- Owls wake up and hunt in the moonlight.
C- Can you hear the sound of the fox as he creeps through the forest?
And so on! Thank you, for your help, the discussions you have with your child the evening before makes a huge difference to their confidence and readiness to write.

Maths-
A maths sheet has been placed in your child’s blue homework diary.
Also this week you will find a white label stuck onto the front of the blue diary. This is a password for RM maths which you can access a t home on a computer. More information is given in the covering letter also to be found in the blue diary.
Can we please remind you to ensure that your child's reading books and red diary are returned to school every day. If your child's book is in school every day then we will listen to them read every day. This will make such a difference to their progress. Thank you.
Reception will have Sports Stars on a Friday, which will always be held outside if the weather is dry. Please can you make sure that your child has a warm kit and trainers. They won't be able to take part if they don't have these, which would be such a shame as the sessions are so much fun.
