YEAR 3 LENT ACTIVITIES  - Fairtrade Food Fair!

It is that time of year again and pupils in Year 3 are gearing up for their Lent Charity activities.  This year our Lent fundraising will only take place on Friday 12th March.

This year, as our date falls so close to Fairtrade Fortnight we are going to have a ‘Fairtrade’ theme. In class, on the afternoon of Thursday 11th March the pupils will each make a Fairtrade Fruit Kebab and a Fairtrade Chocolate crispy cake. These will then be sold the following day at our ‘Fantastic Fairtrade Food Fair’!

Of course, with there being only 28 pupils in the class the amount of kebabs and cakes we can produce will be limited and this is where I hope you as parents/carers may be able to help. In the first instance, if you are able to donate any Fairtrade fruit (pineapples, bananas etc) or chocolate items then all would be gratefully received. Secondly, if time and enthusiasm allows, any Fairtrade kebabs or cakes made at home would be most welcome as they will boost the produce the class will have made and will of course hopefully boost the amount of money we will raise for our charities.

Any donations of food will need to be in school by Thursday 11th March and cakes or kebabs made at home will need to be bought in on the sale day, Friday 12 March.

As a class we are looking forward to our Lent Charity activities and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support with this venture.
