Curriculum News Summer Term Y3 |
Topic: Changes in Time (1950’s - 1980’s) This term year 3 will be undertaking a study of the changes that occurred in every day life from the 1950’s to the 1980’s. In particular pupils will be looking at changes to houses, food, travel, education, clothes and pastimes. The study will also focus on the changes that occurred to certain sections of society - women, men, children etc. The topic obviously has a strong history focus, but it will also allow many opportunities to explore other curriculum areas. It is hoped that as a class we will visit St Fagans Museum of Life so we can investigate the above changes in a more visual/practical way. If you think you may be available to accompany us on this visit please let me know – your help, as always, would be very much appreciated.

It is therefore important that they have the correct kit with them. Due to our changeable weather, pupils will need to ensure they have kit that can be used both indoor and outdoor every Monday and Tuesday.

GENERAL INFORMATION Homework – this will generally be set on a FRIDAY and pupils will, in the majority of cases, have a week to complete this work. Pupils are expected to bring their homework in ON the due date! Can you ensure that pupils have their homework diaries with them everyday as they form a means of home-school contact. Home Readers - the same system as last term will remain in operation. Hobby Hot Seat - this will continue as it did last term. A final note - we had a brilliant Spring term in Y3 with every pupil making great progress across every element of the curriculum. We are in for another busy term and I hope the pupils continue to enjoy their learning right the way through to the end of Y3. If you have any concerns or queries during this term please do not hesitate to contact me. Mrs R Glover |
