Urdd Gobaith Cymru is a youth organisation with over 50,000 members throughout Wales. Here in Cardiff and the Vale we have over 4,500 members and offer a wide range of activities for Welsh medium schools and Welsh learners alike.

Being an Urdd member in Year 5 also enables children to take part in activity weekends at Llangrannog - the date being

2^nd-4^th July 2010 at a cost of £99.00.

At the Urdd Camp children have an opportunity to go ski-ing, horse riding, roller skating, quad biking, swimming along with many other activities.

Year 6 Urdd members will be able to attend after –school Urdd Clubs but will not be able to revisit Llangrannog unfortunately!

Membership this year is £6.00 per child and you must be an Urdd member to go to Llangrannog.

If you wish to become an Urdd member, please bring in your membership fee by 16^th OCTOBER.

     Friday 16^th October is the closing date for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who wish to join the Urdd this year to bring in their £6.00 membership fee.

      Year 5 Urdd members will be eligible to go to Llangrannog from 2^nd to 4^th July next year for a fun weekend – please see www.urdd.org for more details.

       Starting in January, Year 5 and Year 6 Urdd members will be welcome to come along to a monthly after-school Urdd Club. We shall be practising our oral Welsh skills through playing board and team games, learning traditional Welsh folk dances and by playing games using a super Welsh second-language website on our laptops. Details of the dates for our School Urdd Club will be given after half-term.

       Please remember Year 5 that you have to be a member of the Urdd to go to Llangrannog next July – don’t miss out!
