15th December 2009
Dear Parents,
Here we are – the last week of term and what a full and exciting term it has been! Thank you for all your help and support which is greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoyed the concerts last week, we certainly did and the children had a wonderful time! The Christmas Fayre last Friday was a great success and the ‘Friends’ raised £830, which will help to purchase some much needed ICT equipment for the school. Thank you to all those parents involved in the ‘Friends of St. Brides’. We appreciate all the hard work that you do for us throughout the year.
Just a few reminders for the rest of this week:
· Wednesday 16th December – you will have received information about the Christmas Parties from the class teacher. Children do not need to wear school uniform tomorrow, but may come to school ready dressed in their ‘party’ clothes.
· Thursday 17th December – Mince Pies and Music 9.15a.m. School hall. Please join us for an hour of festive cheer. Musicians from school will be performing and there will also be Christmas Poems read by pupils. Also on Thursday is the School Christmas Dinner for the children. If you would like to come and help us at lunchtime that would be great! Please let your child’s class teacher know. · Friday 18th December – Carol Service 1.30p.m. St. Bridget’s Church Please join us for our special act of worship on the last day of term. You will be able to collect your child from school immediately following the service. Please don’t take them directly from church – they must all come back to school first! · Christmas Eve – Special service – 6.30p.m. St. Bridget’s Church Reverend Caroline Pascoe has asked me to inform you of a very special service taking place in church on Christmas Eve. It would be wonderful if some of the children could be involved. If your child is able to attend this service please let me know as soon as possible as there may be songs to sing and readings! Your support in this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. · Inspection – At the end of the week you will receive a letter informing you of the parents meeting which is to take place early next term with school inspectors. You will also be sent a questionnaire which must be completed and returned to school as soon as possible. Please follow the instructions regarding the questionnaire and the meeting. Thank you for your support in this matter. · Return to school – MONDAY 4TH JANUARY. Please note, this is not an INSET day! Finally, may I take this opportunity to thank you for all the personal support I have received in my first term as Acting Headteacher, which is extremely appreciated. My very best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a peaceful new year.
