Dear Parents,
What a busy week we have had - a most successful Eisteddfod, a trip for Year 5 and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Yesterday the school was full of white rabbits, mad hatters and Cheshire cats – it was wonderful and great fun!
Mothering Sunday
The family service for Mothering Sunday will be held on Sunday 14th March at 11.00a.m in St. Bridget’s Church. It will be a lovely occasion. Many thanks to all who have a confirmed their attendance. I look forward to seeing you there. The Colorfoto photographs for Mothering Sunday should arrive sometime next week and will be sent home as soon as possible.
School Award
The school has obtained the Intermediate International School Award. This is a result of the excellent work the school does with regard to global citizenship and modern foreign languages. Congratulations to all! To assist us in further developing our global citizenship, we would be most grateful if you could fill in the attached questionnaire (yes, another one!) and return to school as soon as possible. Thank you.
Friends Association
The Friends Association have purchased a portable interactive whiteboard for Reception class which has arrived this week. Thank you to everyone for supporting and raising the necessary funds – we are very grateful indeed!
Big Merit
Unfortunately the date for Big Merit worship has changed – it will now be held on Thursday 18th March at 9.15a.m. in the school hall. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. I hope you are able to join us in our regular celebration of success.
Uniform
A reminder that all children should be wearing full school uniform. Unfortunately there are still children who are not bringing PE kits to school. For health and hygiene purposes PE kits must be worn. A full list of uniform is attached for your information. Uniform may be purchased from Uniform 2 Go in Bridgend and also from J.M. textiles in Penarth. If you have any concerns about uniform, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Holy Week Worship
The first week of the Easter holidays is Holy Week which means that our special shared worship will be held the week before. We would be delighted if you could join us for the following:
Eucharist (to celebrate Palm Sunday) – Monday 22nd March 11.00a.m St. Bridget’s Church
Year 6 Passover Worship – Thursday 25th March 9.15a.m. School Hall
Stations of the Cross – Friday 26th March 1.15p.m School Grounds (meet by log circle)
Thank you all for your continued support, which is much appreciated. I look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any concerns or queries relating to this newsletter.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. M.C. Matthews
