NEWSLETTER – SUMMER TERM 2                                                     30th April 2010

Dear Parents,

It seems only the other day that I was wishing you a Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that we are already at May Day Bank Holiday weekend. I hope that you have a great long weekend and that the weather is fine for you to enjoy. The Curriculum News for the Summer Term will be sent out to you next week and will also be available on the school website.

CHOIR PERFORMANCE

On Tuesday 11th May, the choir will be performing at the Mothers’ Union Festival at St. Bridget’s church at 7.00p.m. We are delighted that the choir has been invited to sing and this marks the start of a very busy term for them. At the end of June they will be performing at the Ewenny Festival in the Priory (date to be confirmed). We hope that you will be able to join us for some of the performances.

ADVANCE NOTICE: EUCHARIST FOR ASCENSION DAY – THURSDAY 13TH MAY 11.00A.M.

We will be celebrating Ascension Day with our Eucharist service at St. Bridget’s Church. You are most welcome to join us and we would love to see you there.

FRIENDS OF ST BRIDES

A big ‘Diolch yn fawr iawn’ to the ‘Friends Association’ for working so hard to organise a wonderful 80’s Pop Quiz. The evening was great fun and thanks must go to Mark Thomas, who really got us thinking with the fantastic quiz that he prepared.  Keep an eye on the website where the amount of money raised will be confirmed.  The purchases the ‘Friends’ have already made for the school are being used to enhance learning and we are most grateful for their hard work

PARKING OUTSIDE SCHOOL

Unfortunately, at certain times of the day, it becomes very congested outside the main entrance to the school. Although I fully appreciate that parking is difficult outside the school, please refrain from blocking the entrance to the school and the entrance to the driveways of local residents. For health and safety reasons please do not park on areas where parking is prohibited. Thank you for your cooperation.

‘HEALTH CHALLENGE WALES

We have been requested by the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) to distribute the ‘Health Challenge Wales’ yellow envelopes that you will receive with this newsletter. This is a WAG initiative and if you wish to complete the questionnaires, please do not send them back to us here at school. A freepost envelope is provided for you to send them to the necessary organisation if you are interested in participating.

I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday after what will hopefully be a sunny Bank Holiday Monday!

Have a lovely weekend,

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. M.C. Matthews
