Fun in the Snow

We had a fabulous time in school the day after the heavy snow.  The children thoroughly enjoyed working together in teams to create snowmen and 'snowladies'.

Hard at work!  It's alot harder than it looks too!

The children also enjoyed looking at the patterns they had left behind them when rolling snow balls.

We were really excited about making our models and were so glad that we had the correct clothes so we could go outside and enjoy the weather without getting cold, wet and miserable!

We really enjoyed working together as a team to create our models and we all had a lot of fun!  I wonder what these girls are making?

This snowman was made by William, Uma and Nico.  They worked incredibly hard and discussed all the diffferent stages in the building process.

Made by Luke, Sam and Tom.  They did build another snowman after this and named each one after themselves.

We were so proud of our snowmen when they were completed.  Some children loved their Snowmen so much that they 'temporarily' lent their hats and scarfs to them to borrow - What a kind girl Uma!

This snowmans head with wonderfully spiky hair was made by Matthew, Kieran and Jack.  They have also been making an igloo just next to it that you can see in more detail below.

We thought carefully about how we could move lots of fresh snow without having to keep going back and forth with our arms full and some of the girls came up with the idea of using one of our toy wheel barrows - Very ingenious!

 We also enjoyed...

...running through the senses garden!

... jumping and trying to catch snowflakes when it was actually falling (this was before it settled!).

... and making footprints in the fresh snow.

I wonder whose footprints these are?
